Cooper Flagg has the potential to become one of the faces of the NBA in a few years. So what does he think about the current face of the WNBA, Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark?
Flagg was recently asked to make his WNBA Mount Rushmore of the four greatest WNBA players and after listing a few obvious choices, he decided to put Clark on the list. He explained that in addition to Candace Parker, Brittney Griner and A’ja Wilson belonging on the mountain for their skill, Clark deserves to be there for how she’s changed the game itself.
“Candace Parker, Brittney Griner, I think A’ja Wilson is on there, and then I might put Caitlin Clark on there, just because she has changed the game so much, and is heading in the right direction. And I just love what she has been able to do,” Flagg said.

Some basketball fans quickly took Flagg to task for not knowing his WNBA history. A few feel that Griner, Wilson and Clark shouldn’t belong on a list given how recently they’ve played:
“WNBA Mount Rushmore wouldn’t even have BG, Aja or Clark but he’s 18 so I get it,” wrote another.
“These Caitlin Clark takes are getting out of hand. And I say this as a fan. It’s okay to let her earn her place in history. She’s built for it,” replied another.
“He definitely just said the only 4 WNBA players he knows of lmao,” a third wrote.
But other fans applauded Flagg for giving Clark her due, even if it may be a tad premature:
“He knows the real deal.”
“Cooper Flagg knows hoops.”
“CC rightfully in Mount Rushmore.”

Flagg was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, joining the Dallas Mavericks in a move that will see him link up with the likes of Anthony Davis and (eventually, maybe) Kyrie Irving.
He was one of the highest-rated draft prospects since Victor Wembanyama and many believe that he is destined for NBA superstardom.
Unlike Caitlin Clark though, he’s probably going to have a slightly harder time being a megastar from the jump.
But maybe he’ll prove everyone wrong on that front. We’ll find out in a few short months.
