Top NBA draft picks usually go to bad teams. For players used to winning, that can be a major adjustment. Cooper Flagg is going through that now with the Dallas Mavericks. When asked about the Mavs struggles to get wins this season, Flagg said he’s not used to losing like this.
“This is the most I’ve lost since, I think, ever,” Flagg said.
The Mavericks rookie forward led Nokomis Regional High School to a 24-1 record on the way to the Maine state title as a freshman. In his two years at Montverde Academy, Flagg’s teams went 56-3, including an undefeated 33-0 season in 2023-24. In his lone season at Duke, Flagg lost just four games, including falling in the Final Four.
Dallas lost their third straight game on Wednesday. The Mavericks have started the season 2-6.
