Josh Green and Tyrell Terry will see time

The Dallas Mavericks have announced both their Las Vegas Summer League roster and schedule with some slightly surprising news as well.

Dallas is guaranteed four games, three of which will be broadcast on NBAtv with a fourth on ESPN2.

  • Monday August 9th, at 3pm CST versus the Philadelphia 76ers (NBAtv)
  • Wednesday August 11th, at 8pm CST versus the Utah Jazz (NBAtv)
  • Saturday August 14th, at 2pm CST versus the Denver Nuggets (NBAtv)
  • Sunday August 15th, at 2pm CST versus the Sacramento Kings (ESPN2)

If the Maverivks have one of the best two records, they will play in a fifth and final championship game. Dallas will be coached by assistant Mavericks coach Greg St. Jean.

Here’s the roster, per Mavs PR

The Dallas Mavericks have announced their roster for the 2021 @NBASummerLeague.

Dallas will tip off against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, Aug. 9 at 3 p.m. CT on @NBATV.

There is a player missing from this roster, second round selection Tyler Bey.

Official: Tyler Bey was not extended a qualifying offer and is an unrestricted free agent.

I’m told that Tyler Bey was not extended a qualifying offer, which makes him an unrestricted free agent. Bey and Nate Hinton were on two-way contracts last season. Hinton is on the summer league roster, Bey is not and is an UFA.

This is a bit surprising, given that he was the last remainder of the Seth Curry for Josh Richardson trade last summer. Why he hasn’t worked out for Dallas given the inexpensive nature of his contract is something we’re bound to learn more about in the coming days. It may well have been a choice between Bey and Nate Hinton moving forward.

However, it’s interesting that Josh Green will see time. Australia has a clear path to a medal game on August 7th and if the Boomers make it that far that will mean a quick flight across the world soon after.

There’s still time and cheap flights to go to NBA Summer League and I can’t recommend it enough.
