Another shooter! And he’s a defender too!
According to Marc Stein (sign up for his amazing substack!), the Dallas Mavericks are close to signing free agent guard Reggie Bullock.

Update: he’s signed for three years and just over $30 million, per Shams Charania

The former first round pick (25th over all in the 2013 draft) played well for the Knicks last season, averaging a solid 10.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 41% from three including a scorching 46.8% from the corners. Do you know who is good at finding shooters in the corners?
On top of that, he’s a solid defender, grading out in the 71st percentile in the pick and roll last season, though admittedly he numbers were likely helped by the scheme; the Knicks were just good at defense. Fans may remember his willingness to go at Luka Doncic when the two teams matched up. It didn’t work out so well for him, but it doesn’t work out well for any defender.
This is the third shooter the Mavericks have signed this off-season, going along with Tim Hardaway Jr., who signed a four year deal, and Sterling Brown, who just signed a two year deal.
It’s still early in the evening though (6:32 pm as of this writing) so we’ll see what else the Mavericks work towards.
