Despite rumors of interested overseas teams, Dante Exum and the Dallas Mavericks have mutual interest in signing a new deal. Exum has spent the last two seasons in Dallas. The Mavericks hold Early Bird rights for the veteran guard, allowing them to give him a dump in pay from his previous salary of $3.15 million for this season.
Exum played in 75 regular seasons games for the Mavs over the last two years, while dealing with a series of injuries. In those games, the 9-year NBA veteran averaged 8.0 points, 2.8 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 19.5 minutes per game. Exum shot 51.6% from the field, including 47.2% on three-pointers.
Turkish club Fenerbahce has shown interest in signing Exum. Before returning to the NBA with Dallas in 2023, Exum played for Barcelona and then KK Partizan for two seasons.
