Luka Doncic Expected To Miss Game 1: NBA World Reacts

April 15, 2022 by The Spun

Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic.

When the Dallas Maverick face off against the Utah Jazz this weekend, they will likely be without their best player.

In the final game of the regular season, Luka Doncic suffered a left calf injury. After undergoing an MRI, doctors revealed that Doncic suffered a calf strain, which left his immediate future in question.

Well, on Thursday afternoon, news broke that Doncic “is expected” to miss the first game of the team’s playoff series against the Jazz. “Mavericks star Luka Doncic is expected to miss Game 1 vs. Jazz on Saturday night due to strained calf,” the report from Shams Charania said.

Fans didn’t wait to start reacting to the news.

“That’s really too bad. I was looking forward to Mitchell and Doncic going head to head in the playoffs. Hopefully he recovers soon,” one fan said.

Others aren’t too worried and still believe the Mavericks will win the series.

“Mavs still win the series,” the fan said.

Earlier this week, Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd talked about Doncic and his possible availability for this weekend’s game.

“If he’s able to go out and put on his shoes, then he’s going to go,” Kidd said. “If he can’t, we’re not going to put him in a situation to jeopardize it and make things worse.”

Hopefully Doncic can make a swift return to the court in the near future.
