The Dallas Mavericks moved Klay Thompson out of their starting lineup ahead of their 101-99 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Thompson had previously started every game of his tenure with the Mavericks. D’Angelo Russell took Thompson’s spot in the lineup to give the starters a traditional point guard.
“Talked to Klay,” Jason Kidd said. “Said, ‘This isn’t a permanent thing. But can you come off the bench?’ He was good with it.”
Thompson tied a season high with 11 points on 3-for-6 shooting from three.
