The Dallas Mavericks are expected to sign D’Angelo Russell to a two-year, $12 million contract, sources told Marc Stein of The Stein Line and Jake Fischer of The People’s Insider. Russell, who is represented by Aaron Mintz and Austin Brown, averaged 12.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists with a PER of 13.8 last season.
Despite Russell potentially being the 15th and final contract on the roster, the Mavs are still interested in re-signing Dante Exum.
The Mavs could explore the trade market for Olivier-Maxence Prosper in order to make room for Exum.
Prosper averaged 3.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 52 games last season.
