Get to know Cooper Flagg
Tuesday afternoon I was joined my J. Kyle Mann of the Ringer to talk Cooper Flagg. Whether or not you’re unfamiliar with Flagg, this is the podcast for you. Mann’s been following Flagg’s rise on the scene over the last several years and strongly believes in his game and how he could develop.
We open with an elevator pitch on the appeal of Flagg. Mann’s answer on the quality of Flagg’s potential should excite all Dallas fans. He’s a truly special player.

It’s a tight 30 minute show, where we cover both Flagg’s offensive and defensive roles. Defensively, Flagg is already a monster and if you’re a believer in strong defense, things are only going to get better for the Mavericks. I’ve compared him to the Xenomorph in the Alien movies; he’s so fast and just APPEARS at times. Offensively, he’s developing still, but at a rapid pace. It’s worth questioning if Flagg can ever lead an offense, but that it’s a potential question right now is actually a good thing. A year ago, he was largely considered a defense-first player. His ability to hit open shots and his willingness to initiate the offense is exciting.
After this pod, I was even more all in on Flagg and I hope this gets you pumped for June and beyond.
