Porzingis on what he says are misconceptions about relationship with Doncic:
“There’s no issue between us. We’re super-cool. We’d always hang out. I would say that’s the biggest misconception. Luka’s a cool dude, hangs out. He’s super-chill. It’s hard not to be cool with him.” – 10:46 PM

A poor half as Mavs defense got carved up again, Got out hustled as Wizards scored 12 pts on 6 Off rebs and 13 pts off 7 Mavs turnovers. Were it not for stellar FT shooting (19-20) this would be a lot worse than 67-53. Doncic w/19. KCP 17. KP 12-6. 2nd half soon @theeagledallas – 8:18 PM

Most of Brunson’s points have come in the paint. Doesn’t seem to fear Porzingis, probably because he’s practiced against him so often. – 7:52 PM

In his first game against the Mavs since he was traded by the Mavs, Kristaps Porzingis has scored eight of the Wizards’ first 19 points. He’s being aggressive — perhaps too much. He just attempted a 3-pointer from 28 feet early in the shot clock. – 7:23 PM

More on this storyline

Kristaps Porzingis made his return to Madison Square Garden that November and it was a major story in the NBA. This time, he doesn’t think there be as much hype. “I think it’s going to be a good game. It’s not going to be like my first game with Dallas in New York. That one was just crazy. This one is going to be a bit more just me competing against my old team. We’ll see,” he said. -via NBC Sports / March 31, 2022
Before the Dallas Mavericks traded Kristaps Porzingis to the Washington Wizards for Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans at the deadline, they attempted to send him to the Toronto Raptors in a deal for Goran Dragic and Gary Trent Jr. While the Mavericks hoped Porzingis would be a second star to pair with Luka Doncic, it never played out that way on the floor. -via RealGM / March 4, 2022
“They tried to trade him to Toronto,” said Tim MacMahon on The Lowe Post. “My understanding is their discussions there were Dragic and Gary Trent. Toronto understandably said ‘We’re not giving up Gary Trent Jr.’” -via RealGM / March 4, 2022
