Sloan took on a midweek starting role as a true freshman in 2023, when the Horned Frogs won the Big 12 tournament and advanced to the College World Series. Over 44 career appearances and 14 starts at TCU, Sloan owns a 9-11 record and a 5.30 ERA with 147 strikeouts and 59 walks. Sloan, whose ERA and opposing batting averaged improved over all three years of his collegiate career, was one of three TCU pitchers taken in the 2025 MLB Draft. Ben Abeldt went to the Texas Rangers and Caedmon Parker was picked by the Chicago White Sox.
