The Horned Frogs concede only their second nonconference defeat of the season.
TCU baseball saw its up-and-down season continue on Tuesday evening, when the Horned Frogs conceded an 8-3 loss against Abilene Christian on the road and suffered only their second nonconference defeat of the 2024 season. Luke Boyers finished with three hits for the Horned Frogs (22-13, 7-11 Big 12), who will travel for a Big 12 series at Texas this weekend.

Left-hander Braeden Sloan took the ball to start the game and failed to record a single out, allowing four earned runs on two hits and two walks during the first inning. It was the worst first-inning showing of the season for the Horned Frogs, who trailed 7-0 after Abilene scored seven runs in the frame. A two-run single from shortstop Anthony Silva and an RBI single from outfielder Luke Boyers resulted in the only three runs of the game for TCU. Abilene added one run on a TCU error in the bottom of the fifth inning.
