Nelson had his best collegiate season in 2022-23, averaging 20.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game for the Blue Hens. The star guard played the first two seasons of his career with George Washington before transferring to Delaware in 2021, making this his second transfer portal decision.
Nelson and the Blue Hens made a trip to the 2022 NCAA Tournament with a CAA championship win in his junior season, but failed to find that same success this past year.
TCU made it to the Round of 32 of this year’s tournament before falling to No. 3 seed Gonzaga. The addition of Nelson gives the Horned Frogs an instant infusion of scoring and veteran guard leadership.
