
TCU defensive lineman Charlie Davis was a two-time All-SWC honoree and a Super Bowl champion.

71 – Charlie Davis (Defensive Lineman – 1970-73)
Davis was a two-time All-Southwest Conference player on the defensive line in 1972 and 1973 as well as a Third-Team All-American in 1973. A native of Wortham, Texas, Davis was picked in the ninth round of the 1974 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers and played seven professional seasons. Over 74 professional games, Davis recorded 10.5 sacks and made four fumble recoveries. After one season with the Steelers, Davis played for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1975-79 and concluded his career with the Houston Oilers in 1980.
Davis, who was inducted into the TCU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999, won a championship with the Steelers in 1975, when Pittsburgh defeated the Minnesota Vikings 16-6 in Super Bowl IX. Davis was one of the first black student-athletes at TCU to graduate from the Neeley School of Business in 1974.
