The TCU Horned Frogs are less than 100 days from kicking off the 2025 football season with a nonconference road matchup against the North Carolina Tar Heels and new head coach Bill Belichick. As we count down the days until kickoff, we’ll highlight a former (or current) Horned Frog whose jersey number represents the number of days left until the opener.

76 – Jake Kirkpatrick (Offensive Lineman – 2006-10)
A five-year member of the Horned Frogs, Kirkpatrick redshirted in 2006 and took on a reserve role over the 2007 and 2008 seasons. His breakout campaign came in 2009, when he earned First-Team All-American honors from SI and Third-Team All-American honors from Rivals. One of six finalists for the Rimington Trophy, presented annually to the nation’s top center, Kirkpatrick started 13 games at center and was named an All-Mountain West player.
Kirkpatrick received the Rimington Trophy in 2010 and was one of four finalists (as well as the only offensive finalist) for the Rotary Lombardi Award recognizing the nation’s best lineman. Kirkpatrick brought in several All-American accolades in 2010 and was a First-Team All-Mountain West honoree. Kirkpatrick, who didn’t commit a penalty or allow a sack in the entire 2010 campaign, competed in the Senior Bowl and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Indianapolis Colts in 2011.
