Former TCU wide receiver Josh Boyce posted over 2,500 yards and 22 touchdowns through the air during his collegiate career.

The TCU Horned Frogs are less than 100 days from kicking off the 2025 football season with a nonconference road matchup against the North Carolina Tar Heels and new head coach Bill Belichick. As we count down the days until kickoff, we’ll highlight a former (or current) Horned Frog whose jersey number represents the number of days left until the opener.

82 – Josh Boyce (Wide Receiver – 2009-12)

A player who helped usher TCU into a new era in the Big 12 Conference, Boyce electrified the fan base with his pass catching abilities, recording 161 catches for 2,535 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns over just three seasons after redshirting in 2009. Boyce was named a Freshman All-American in 2010 before ascending to First-Team All-Mountain West status in 2011. In 2012, Boyce went for 891 receiving yards and seven touchdowns to earn an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention during TCU’s first season in the conference.

Boyce played in 39 collegiate games with 33 starts. The Copperas Cove, Texas native was selected in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots and played for three NFL teams during his professional career. Boyce, who spent time on practice squads with the Indianapolis Colts and Cleveland Browns from 2016-17, played in 10 NFL games and collected nine catches for 121 yards.
