Deion Sanders said his son Shedeur had some added motivation to put up a big performance against TCU last weekend.
On “The Pat McAfee Show” Monday, Sanders said that when his son was a high school prospect, he attended a camp where he had the opportunity to work out in from of current TCU offensive coordinator Kendal Briles.
Briles, however, apparently did not pay any attention to Shedeur, a slight that stuck with the signal caller for years.
“I don’t even think he [Briles] barely spoke to him. He just pushed him off to the side,” Sanders said. “He [Shedeur] remembered that. He told me probably 20 minutes after the situation happened, ‘Dad, we’ll never come back here again.'”

Shedeur was a member of the high school class of 2021, so based on Briles’ resume, this offseason encounter (or lack thereof) occurred while he was the offensive coordinator at either Houston, Florida State or Arkansas.
If it was while Briles was at Florida State, that adds another wrinkle to an already complicated relationship between Deion and his former program.
Shedeur Sanders was one of the biggest stars in college football in Week 1, connecting on 38-of-47 passes for 510 yards and four touchdowns in Colorado’s 45-42 win over TCU.
