The Fort Worth native will join the Horned Frogs after five seasons with the Fighting Irish

TCU Football picked up its second commitment from the transfer portal of this offseason, with former Notre Dame defensive end NaNa Osafo-Mensah announcing his commitment via social media on Friday. The Fort Worth Nolan Catholic product spent five seasons in South Bend with the Fighting Irish, seeing action in 35 games. In the 2023 campaign he played in all 12 games, finishing with 20 total tackles, including 5.5 for loss and 3 sacks.

The 6’ 3”, 264 lbs defensive lineman was a four-star high school prospect, ranking as the 14th best defensive end in the nation and number 26th overall in the state of Texas in the Class of 2019. As a transfer prospect, he ranks as a top-ten defensive lineman and top 80 overall player in the transfer portal, per 247Sports.

Osafo-Mensah will have opportunity to contribute immediately in 2024 for TCU, as the Horned Frogs lost defensive lineman Rick D’Abreu, Trenton Dickey, Soni Misi to graduation and highly touted Edge prospect Jonathan Bax to the transfer portal. He is the second member of the TCU transfer class, joining Louisiana Tech OL Carson Bruno.

Here are all six sacks from the Notre Dame defense on Caleb Williams.

Common thread: Team effort. Outside of freshman Boubacar Traore blowing by USC’s right tackle, all of these takedowns have multiple Irish players in the Trojans’ backfield.
