The First-Team All-Big 12 honoree will play alongside Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes.
TCU football saw its second selection of the 2024 NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon, with the Kansas City Chiefs taking tight end Jared Wiley in the fourth round with the 131st overall choice. Wiley will suit up alongside first-round wide receiver Xavier Worthy as well as the star tandem of quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce. The 6-foot-7 tight end was an All-Big 12 First Team selection in 2023 after catching 47 passes for 520 yards and eight touchdowns. Wiley started 17 total games over two seasons with the Horned Frogs, earning an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention during the 2022 campaign.

Wiley is the first TCU athlete to be taken on Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft after offensive lineman Brandon Coleman was the first and only Horned Frog selected on Day 2. Coleman was drafted with the 67th overall choice in the third round on Friday evening. Wiley started his collegiate career at Texas, totaling 19 receptions over three seasons before continuing his career with the Horned Frogs, where he helped TCU reach the national title in 2022. Wiley will now begin his NFL career with the defending Super Bowl champions.

The current depth chart at the tight end position in Kansas City includes the All-Pro and future Hall of Famer Kelce, who will be 35 years old this October. Additional tight ends on the Kansas City roster include veteran Noah Gray as well as new free-agent signee Irv Smith Jr. Wiley is the first TCU tight end selected in the NFL Draft since Matt Schobel was taken by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2002.
