The Horned Frog has developed from an undrafted free agent to a key defensive back in the NFL.

After a breakout season in which he set career-highs in total tackles, pass breakups and interceptions, former TCU defensive back Ar’Darius Washington has signed his restricted free agent tender with the Baltimore Ravens. It’s a one-year tender worth a reported $3.263 million for Washington, who signed as an undrafted free agent and has spent all four years of his NFL career with the Ravens. Washington has become a key cog in the Baltimore secondary, appearing in 17 games and totaling 64 tackles during the 2024-25 season.

Washington broke up eight passes and snagged two interceptions during his breakout season with the Ravens. Washington’s ascension up the depth chart began during the 2023-24 season, where the former Horned Frog safety recorded 11 total tackles and two pass breakups in two games. The 5-foot-8, 180-pounder posted a career-high 12 total tackles against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Nov. 17 and recorded his first career interception against the Denver Broncos on Nov. 3. At TCU, Washington earned Freshman All-American honors in 2019 and was an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2020.
