The 12-year NFL veteran has one pass defensed and one-half sacks in five games this season
12-year NFL veteran and former TCU defensive end Jerry Hughes snapped a four-game sackless drought against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, teaming up with Carlos Basham to bring down Patrick Mahomes for one-half of the Buffalo Bills’ two sacks in their 38-20 win.
A first-rounder in the 2010 NFL Draft, Hughes will be serving more of a mentorship role for the Bills, who are deploying two talented, young pass rushers in Basham and 2021 first-rounder Greg Rousseau, who has three sacks already. Hughes has played for Buffalo since 2013, compiling 51 sacks, 17 passed defensed and 14 forced fumbles during that span.

Tre’von Moehrig makes key play for Las Vegas Raiders
With his team trailing 21-14 in the fourth quarter of a road contest against the Los Angeles Chargers, Moehrig prevented what would’ve been an easy first down, deflecting a pass from Justin Herbert toward the right sideline. Moehrig has settled into the starting free safety position for the Raiders, who recently saw head coach Jon Gruden resign.

It was the first pass defense of the season for Moehrig, who has 10 tackles and four assists through five games this season. The 2021 second-rounder has frequently been one of the highest-graded players on the Las Vegas defense throughout the young season. The future is certainly bright for the 2020 Jim Thorpe Award winner as the nation’s top defensive back.
Jalen Reagor’s struggles continue in Philadelphia
The 2020 first-round wide receiver had a tough game against the Carolina Panthers, finishing with three catches on five targers for 24 yards while adding a handful of mistakes including a dropped pass, a third-down holding penalty that stalled a drive and a tough missed block on a short pass in which Carolina safety AJ Bouye blew him up.

Reagor has only accurred 140 receiving yards and one touchdown on 17 receptions through five games this season. The former TCU wide receiver and special teams standout also saw his reps cut during Sunday’s matchup against Carolina, with Quez Watkins playing more snaps and finishing with more yards. The Eagles used a 2021 first-rounder on Alabama’s DeVonta Smith, who has quickly become Philadelphia’s No. 1 options, while Watkins has outperformed Reagor and appears likely to command the No. 2 option for the Eagles.
Still seeking a breakout performance, Reagor will look for one against Tampa Bay.
