The former Horned Frog will continue his talents elsewhere after three seasons in Fort Worth.
After entering the transfer portal earlier this offseason, former TCU forward JaKobe Coles has reportedly committed to continuing his basketball career at Grand Canyon for the 2024-25 season. Coles was a member of the Horned Frogs for the last three years, averaging 10.0 points and 3.8 rebounds while shooting 49 percent from the field during the 2023-24 season. Coles helped TCU to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances.

Coles played in 100 games with 12 starts over his three seasons in Fort Worth. The 6-foot-8 forward from Denton, Texas is one of four TCU men’s basketball players who entered the transfer portal after the 2023-24 season. Micah Peavy has committed to Georgetown, while Essam Mostafa and Darius Ford remain uncommitted. The Horned Frogs are bracing for a rebuild, as TCU will lose several veteran players including Emanuel Miller, Jameer Nelson Jr., Avery Anderson III, Trevian Tennyson, Chuck O’Bannon Jr. and Xavier Cork.
