The former Coastal Carolina big man spent one season in Fort Worth and played in 30 games.
Transfer portal news continued to roll out on Wednesday afternoon, with reports indicating that TCU senior center Essam Mostafa will depart after only one season in Fort Worth. The former Coastal Carolina standout transferred in for the 2023-24 campaign and appeared in 30 games for the Horned Frogs, but his role on the team was minimal, as he averaged just 2.8 points and 3.2 rebounds in 9.7 minutes per game. Mostafa becomes the fourth TCU player to transfer out, following Micah Peavy, JaKobe Coles and Darius Ford.

Mostafa’s exit is another indication that the TCU roster will take on a much different shape when the Horned Frogs return for the 2024-25 campaign. The Horned Frogs are losing several veterans including Second-Team All-Big 12 forward Emanuel Miller as well as guards Jameer Nelson Jr., Avery Anderson III and Trevian Tennyson. TCU will also lose forwards Xavier Cork and Chuck O’Bannon Jr. from the 2023-24 roster. The Horned Frogs have added two transfer so far in UCF forward C.J. Walker and Arizona State guard Frankie Collins.
