A second-rounder in the NFL Draft, Moehrig started his career with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Former TCU defensive back Tre’von Moehrig earned his first big pay day as an NFL player this week, when the Horned Frog standout reportedly agreed to terms on a three-year, $51 million contract worth up to $60 million in incentives, with the Carolina Panthers. Moehrig, who won the 2020 Jim Thorpe Award as college football’s best defensive back, was drafted in the second round by the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021 and played four years with the team.

Moehrig has recorded 297 total tackles, 29 pass breakups, six interceptions and three sacks over his brief professional career. Moehrig, who notched a career-high 104 total tackles in 2024, will head to Carolina, where he’ll play alongside former TCU star quarterback Andy Dalton. The Panthers also have former TCU running back Emani Bailey on their roster.
A two-time All-Big 12 First Team honoree and a former ESPN All-American at TCU, Moehrig played in 34 games over three seasons with the Horned Frogs, registering 125 total tackles, 28 pass breakups, seven interceptions, 4.5 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles over that span.
