Lampkin started 19 of 24 games played this season for the Horned Frogs. The 6-foot-11 sophomore averaged 6.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, including a season-high 17 points in a January win over Kansas State.
The following week, Lampkin suffered a high ankle sprain that bothered him for the rest of the season. He tallied 13 combined points over his final six games, missing Saturday’s 74-60 loss to Oklahoma.
Big men Xavier Cork and JaKobe Coles could see more playing time at center, but TCU will give up size and interior defense without Lampkin.
TCU enters the Big 12 Tournament as the No. 6 seed after a 20-11 season. The Horned Frogs begin their quest for a conference title Thursday night against Kansas State at T-Mobile Center.
