The 5-foot-11 guard from Florence, KY was a five-star McDonald’s All-American recruit in the Class of 2020, ranked No. 19 overall and top-5 at her position, committing to the Oregon Ducks where she played with current TCU center Sedona Prince and TCU head coach Mark Campbell, who was an assistant at Oregon at the time. Scherr spent two seasons at Oregon, playing in 53 games, with 32 starts, averaging 3.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game as a Duck.
Scherr transferred home to the Kentucky Wildcats for her junior and senior seasons, where she started all 55 games played, performing as the second-leading scorer for the ‘Cats in each of those two campaigns. In 2023-24, she averaged 12.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.6 steals.
Scherr’s commitment announcement comes just hours after it was reported that TCU would be adding another guard from the SEC and fellow Top-20 recruit from the 2020 class in LSU’s Hailey Van Lith. It has been a busy day for TCU Women’s Basketball as previously committed Miami transfer guard Haley Cavinder announced she would instead be returning to the Hurricanes for her final collegiate season. Scherr & Van Lith join a Horned Frogs backcourt that features All-Big 12 Second Team honoree Madison Conner and returning starters Una Jovanovic and Agnes Emma-Nnopu.
