Big 12 releases Texas conference basketball schedule

The Longhorns will play two Big Monday contests.

The schedule for the 2021-22 Texas Longhorns basketball season is complete following Wednesday’s release of the Big 12 Conference schedule, though it does not currently include tip times and television channels.

Texas opens with a home game against West Virginia on Saturday, Jan. 1 and also plays two Big Monday contests against Kansas on Feb. 7 and Baylor on Feb. 28, the final game at the Erwin Center. The Big 12 schedule ends on Saturday, March 5 against Kansas in Lawrence.

The double round-robin format continues in the conference for an 11th straight season with 18 games total and two games against league member. The Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship is set for March 9-12 in Kansas City’s T-Mobile Center.

Texas head coach Chris Beard begins his first season on the Forty Acres after five years at Texas Tech that included a 49-40 record in Big 12 play and a tie for first place in 2018-19.
