The Longhorns have found their replacement for Max Belyeu.
With Texas Longhorns junior right fielder Max Belyeu working out for MLB organizations in preparation for next month’s draft as a projected second-round selection, head coach Jim Schlossnagle and his staff have found Belyeu’s replacement, landing a commitment on Thursday from Butler transfer outfielder Jack Moroknek.

The 6’3, 185-pounder provides a left-handed power bat for the Longhorns with one year of eligibility remaining.
A Carmel, Ind. product, Moroknek was ranked outside the top 500 outfielders nationally by Perfect Game when he signed with the Bulldogs as a member of the 2021 recruiting class.
After redshirting in 2022 and failing to see the field in 2023, Moroknek had a breakout season as a redshirt sophomore in 2024, slashing .327/.411/.588 with a team-high 13 home runs and 44 RBI while starting in 54 of his 55 appearances. His three home runs against Eastern Michigan tied Butler’s school record.
As a redshirt junior in 2025, Moroknek continued to improve, earning a second-team All-BIG EAST nod after leading the Bulldogs in hits (81), batting average (.372), total bases (153), RBIs (57), home runs (18), runs scored (57), slugging percentage (.702), and OPS (1.145). His 153 total bases set the team record.
