College Football Fans Stunned By Texas’ Performance Tonight

Steve Sarkisian at the Texas Spring Game.

The Steve Sarkisian era at Texas got off to a good start in Week 1, as the Longhorns rolled to a 20-point victory over a solid Louisiana team.

Week 2 has been much, much worse, though.

Texas is currently getting stomped by Arkansas in pretty stunning fashion. The Razorbacks are leading the Longhorns, 16-0, at halftime.

This is the first time Texas has been held scoreless at halftime since 2015.

“Texas was held scoreless in the 1st half for the first time since Oct. 31, 2015 at Iowa State. Arkansas leads 16-0 at the half, its largest lead vs an AP-ranked opponent since 2016 vs Virginia Tech. The Razorbacks led 24-0 in that game before allowing 35 points in a row,” ESPN’s Stats & Info tweeted.

To the surprise of the college football world, Arkansas has just been the better, more physical team.

Arkansas is much more physical than Texas so far. And no doubt the crowd is a factor in that first half.

Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman isn’t surprised, though.

“I think we had a good idea on what they were going to do and we have one of the best D-coordinators in the country,” he admitted at halftime.

There are still two quarters to play, but Texas doesn’t look like a legitimate top 20 team right now.

Arkansas and Texas are getting ready to start the second half on ESPN.
