The 2024 college football season is off and running, with the first full Saturday of games set to kick off in less than two hours.

ESPN’s College GameDay is in College Station, Texas for tonight’s matchup between the No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the No. 20 Texas A&M Aggies. Last week, the longtime pregame show traveled to Ireland for Georgia Tech’s upset over Florida State.

For Week 2 next Saturday, GameDay is heading to Ann Arbor. Defending national champion Michigan, ranked ninth in the opening AP poll, is hosting No. 4 Texas in an early season non-conference showdown.

“Just announced on @CollegeGameDay…@ReceDavis and team are bound for Ann Arbor next week for National Champion @UMichFootball‘s huge game against Texas,” tweeted ESPN’s vice president of PR Bill Hofheimer.

Texas reached the College Football Playoff for the first time in 2023, losing in the semifinals to Washington, who went on to fall to Michigan in the national title game.

Now in their first season in the SEC, the Longhorns are expected to compete for the conference and national championships this fall.

As for Michigan, they lost their head coach Jim Harbaugh and several key contributors to the NFL, but the Wolverines still have possess elite talent on both sides of the ball. New head coach Sherrone Moore got his feet wet last season when he filled in for Harbaugh during a suspension.

College GameDay will get underway next Saturday, Sept. 7, at 9 a.m. ET from the University of Michigan campus.

Texas and Michigan will then kick off at noon ET on FOX.
