The legendary morning show will make its seventh appearance at the Cotton Bowl.
The Texas Longhorns are back… to being relevant enough for ESPN’s College Gameday to make a fourth appearance at a Longhorns game since 2009 on Oct. 9 at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas for the Red River Showdown against the Oklahoma Sooners, the show announced on Sunday morning.
It will air for three hours before the 11 a.m. kickoff on ABC. Details on the set location and other information will be available later in the week on TexasSports.com and other Longhorn social media platforms.
With Texas 4-1 and now ranked No. 21 in the AP Top 25 Poll after Saturday’s win Fort Worth against TCU and Oklahoma 5-0 and ranked No. 5, ESPN chose the Red River Showdown for the first time since 2018 — the thrilling 48-45 win keyed by Cameron Dicker’s last-second field goal — and seventh time overall.
The Longhorns are 10-7 overall when playing following a College Gameday appearance with Saturday’s game marking a tiebreaker at the Cotton Bowl — both teams have won three games apiece. The other two wins for Texas came in 2008 and 2009.
