Class of 2023 five-star and Duncanville (TX.) standout Ron Holland will remain committed to Texas despite head coach Chris Beard’s domestic violence case, his mother Tarasha Holland announced Tuesday on Twitter.
The 6-foot-8 power forward initially committed to Texas in early November and signed on the 11th.
He is one of five commits in a highly-touted 2023 Texas class filled by four-stars Dillon Mitchell, Arterio Morris, Rowan Brumbaugh, and three-star Alex Anamekwe.
The latest with coach Beard has shown that he may have acted in self offense, with his fiancee also saying “he did not strangle me.”
There is no current timetable for Beard’s suspension or any news on him being reinstated.
