The Texas native and speedy utility steps onto the Forty Acres from the NCAA transfer portal.
The Texas Longhorns announced the signing of former Oklahoma State Cowboys utility player Taylor Anderson on Wednesday as the Dripping Springs product steps onto the Forty Acres with three years of eligibility remaining.
Anderson’s freshman year with the Cowgirls produced a .250 average, .438 slugging percentage, and .368 on-base percentage in 16 at-bats, totaling four hits, 16 runs scored, one home run, two RBI, and three walks. On the base paths, Anderson was able to show her speed with four stolen bases in six attempts. Anderson’s explosive speed and field intensity will be a great contribution to the Longhorns coming off the 2025 Women’s College World Series title.
At Dripping Springs, Anderson was a three-time all-state honoree, a District MVP (2022), a Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star (2022), and a District Offensive Player of the Year (2021), leading Dripping Springs to multiple district championships. In track and field, Anderson won bi-district titles as part of the 4×100 meter and 4×200 meter relay teams.
Anderson is one of two players Texas has added from the transfer portal since winning the program’s first national championship, joining former Arizona utility player Kaiah Altmeyer.
