Dabo Swinney and the Tigers score a recruiting win over the Horns.
Positive momentum coming out of an official visit to Austin last weekend wasn’t enough for the Texas Longhorns to beat out the Clemson Tigers for the services of Buford (Ga.) EDGE Dre Quinn as the 6’4, 228-pounder committed to the Tigers on Thursday.

Georgia, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, and Tennessee were the other finalists for the consensus four-star prospect, who took his official visit to Clemson at the end of March and was recruited by former Texas assistant Chris Rumph.
The Longhorns remain in the mix for a number of other edge prospects after hosting Temple product Jamarion Carlton for the first official visit weekend this month and Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy product Jake Kreul last weekend. Two elite edge recruits are scheduled to visit Austin this weekend — Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon’s Richard Wesley and Pensacola (Fla.) Pensacola Catholic’s Trenton Henderson.
