Injury Update Release For Texas Star WR Isaiah Bond During Oklahoma Game

The 16 Most Painful College Football Teams To Be A Fan Of (3:34)

Texas are hammering their arch-rivals, the Oklahoma Sooners, in today’s Red River Rivalry game. But it may feel bittersweet in the end depending on the diagnosis for star wide receiver Isaiah Bond.

The junior wideout is in his first Red River Rivalry game for the Longhorns after transferring from Alabama earlier this year. Through the first five games he has been nothing short of incredible, leading the team with 20 receptions for 364 yards and three touchdowns while adding another 51 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

But his day ended way too early as he got spun around on a short yardage reception and had to be taken to the locker room. He has not returned – and based on the latest report, he won’t be back for the rest of the game.

Taking to X, Bond’s agent Damien S. Butler confirmed that Bond is out for the remainder of the game. But the silver lining is that the injury is “nothing major.”

“Just spoke to @isaiahbond_ . He’s out for the rest of the game but nothing major,” Butler wrote.

Longhorns fans in the comments were relieved to hear the relatively good news about Bond.

“Thank you lord!! Rest up for next week,” one fan replied.

“Good news,” wrote another, adding a horns up emoji.

“This is awesome news if true,” a third wrote.

Fortunately for the Longhorns, they’re up so big on Oklahoma in the game that they didn’t seem to even need Bond.

The game is being played on ABC.
