Plus: What?
A recent data analysis by the Knight-Newhouse College Athletics Database and AL.com demonstrates why the Texas Longhorns’ football program is by far the Southeastern Conference’s most profitable.
According to the organizations’ findings, while Texas spent nearly $66 million on football —coaches salaries, transportation, and so, so much more — Austin’s favorite team also raked in some $205 million in revenue. It was enough to make Texas the SEC’s only program to make more than $150 million in annual revenue last year. (Not bad for an inaugural season with the league.)
