Plus: The latest on Texas softball

In their 120th matchup, the Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies will meet on Black Friday this upcoming season for the second edition of the programs’ renewed football rivalry. Most folks tend to refer to it as the Lone Star Showdown these days, or so it seems.

Last year, Texas and Texas A&M’s rebooted matchup took place on a Saturday. Traditionally, though, the programs football game was scheduled on Thanksgiving or, occasionally, Black Friday. In fact, the last time the two programs played on Black Friday was way back in 2007.
