The state of Texas Longhorns football was summed up in one weekend: 262 NFL draft picks, zero UT players drafted.
Through seven rounds of the 2022 NFL draft, none of Steve Sarkisian‘s players were taken; as he continues to try to build the program back to being a pro football pipeline.

It’s actually the second time this has happened. Back in 2014, the Longhorns went without a draft selection under then head coach Charlie Strong.
Last year, Texas had five players drafted. Headlined by former standout quarterback Sam Ehlinger.
According to @EliasSports, @GeorgiaFootball‘s 15 picks in the 2022 NFL Draft are tied for the 3rd-most by any school all-time.

The Longhorns still hold the record for most total players drafted to the NFL in a single draft. Although it should be noted that was back when the league held a 12-round event. The Georgia Bulldogs set the mark this year with 15 players selected in the current seven-round setup.
Texas heads into year two under Sark after a 5-7 season. It’s not going to be easy to build UT back into what it once was (not too long ago). But, getting some players selected in next year’s draft will be a good start.
