Five-star recruit Ron Holland — who was previously committed to play for the Texas Longhorns — will bypass his college basketball career and sign with the G-League Ignite, per recruiting insider Joe Tipton.
Holland, the No. 1 ranked player in the nation (per 247 Sports), requested a release from his signed National Letter of Intent with Texas last month.

Holland initially reaffirmed his commitment after this new head coaching hire. But after some further consideration, he arrived at this most recent decision.
As one of the top prospects in this year’s class, Holland obviously has aspirations to make it at the NBA level. After one season with G-League Ignite, he’s very likely to enter his name into the 2024 NBA Draft.
