Dominant pitching and explosive offense power mades for a commanding midweek vicetory over the Panthers.
The No. 1 Texas Longhorns continued their dominant baseball season with an 11–2 victory over the Prairie View A&M Panthers on Tuesday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field, improving to 38–5 on the season ahead of another big conference series against the No. 11 Arkansas Razorbacks in Fayetteville.
The Longhorns wasted no time asserting their dominance, scoring early and often with sophomore left fielder Easton Winfield turning in his best performance in burnt orange and white, going 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored on a double and a home run, his first at Texas, raising his batting average by 65 points.
In the bottom of the first inning, first baseman Kimble Schuessler delivered a two-run single, bringing home Rylan Galvan and Ethan Mendoza. Center fielder Will Gasparino added to the lead with a solo home run in the fourth, followed by a series of timely hits in the fifth inning.

Mendoza doubled to right center, scoring Winfield, and later scored himself from a single by the shortstop Jalin Flores. Schuessler then singled to left center, plating Flores, before third baseman Casey Borba capped the inning with a three-run homer to left center.

In the eighth, Winfield added a two-run, 420-foot home run to left center, displaying his opposite-field power and further solidifying the commanding lead.
The Texas pitching staff also delivered a dominant performance, holding Prairie View A&M to just two runs on eight hits throughout the game as the bullpen showcased their depth and control, effectively managing the game and limiting scoring opportunities for the Panthers.
The game began with left-hander Kade Bing on the mound, who pitched three solid innings and picked up his third win. He allowed four hits and one run, striking out one batter without any walks. His efficient outing set the tone for the bullpen’s success.
Right-hander Hudson Hamilton followed with three innings of relief, demonstrating exceptional control. He did not allow any hits, walked one batter, and struck out three in the best performance of his Longhorns career.
Right-hander Aiden Moffett worked around a hit and a walk in one inning, left-hander Ethan Walker allowed one run on three hits, and right-hander Cody Howard closed it out with two strikeouts in the ninth.
Right-hander Aiden Moffett continued the strong pitching effort with one inning of work, allowing one hit, walking one batter, and striking out one, keeping the Panthers’ offense at bay.
The Texas pitching staff also benefited from some sterling defense behind them, including right fielder Tommy Farmer gunning down a runner at the plate.
