A Longhorns win at the Red River Showdown will officially qualify as an upset of the undefeated Sooners.
Following Saturday’s win over the TCU Horned Frogs, the No. 21 Texas Longhorns are 3.5-point underdogs against the No. 6 Oklahoma Sooners for next weekend’s Red River Showdown at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, according to odds released by DraftKings on Sunday.

Oklahoma enters the game undefeated after a 37-31 win over Kansas State on Saturday in Manhattan, although Saturday’s rivalry game against the Longhorns will mark the first ranked opponent the Sooners have faced this season.
Texas, at 4-1 following three straight wins after the blowout against Arkansas, has not yet faced a ranked opponent, though the Razorbacks are currently ranked No. 13 in the AP Poll Top 25 after rising as high as No. 8 prior to Saturday’s loss to the Bulldogs.
In 2020, a furious comeback for the Longhorns against the Sooners fell short in the fourth overtime, 53-45, marking the third straight loss in the rivalry game. Texas leads the all-time series 62-49-5 heading into the 117th all-time meeting between the two programs. The series began in 1900 with the yearly matchup played in Dallas since 1912 and at the State Fair since 1929 — this is the 94th time Texas and Oklahoma have faced off at a neutral site in Dallas.
