The Longhorns are more aggressive than they’ve ever been in finding the right pieces to build a complete roster.
Afforded adequate time to evaluate options in the NCAA transfer portal following the Austin Regional defeat by the UTSA Roadrunners, the Texas Longhorns are addressing key roster needs under head coach Jim Schlossnagle and his staff after an abbreviated offseason last year.
As the back of the roster turned over once the season ended, Schlossnagle began finding the right players to replace departing players with an emphasis on left-handed bats and outfielders in addition to targeting power arms with fastballs that can compete against SEC batters, areas in which the Longhorns were deficient in 2025 because of the program’s roster construction.
Stay up to date on all the additions from the portal, gathered here in one place.
