With the portal window closed, many former Longhorns have found their new destinations.

During the postseason NCAA transfer portal window, the Texas Longhorns turned over a significant portion of the roster under first-year head coach Jim Schlossnagle, ranging from players who saw little or no playing time in 2025 to several starters who struggled at the plate.

With the portal window now closed, here’s a look at where the 16 former Longhorns have landed.

Right-handed pitcher Aiden Moffett — Chicago Cubs

After struggling to break into the Texas bullpen rotation, Aiden Moffett signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday.

Left-handed pitcher Chance Covert — Utah

After redshirting during the 2025 season and entering the transfer portal after the Austin Regional loss to UTSA, Covert announced his commitment to Utah on Sunday.

Right-handed pitcher Drew Rerick — Oklahoma

A big late addition to the 2024 recruiting class out of North Dakota, Rerick withdrew from the 2024 MLB Draft, but struggled during his lone season on the Forty Acres. On Thursday, Rerick announced his commitment to the rival Sooners.

So Rerick will now face off against Texas in the Red River Rivalry as head coach Skip Johnson tries to help the big right-hander turn his considerable potential into production.

Outfielder Will Gasparino — UCLA

After spending a little more than two weeks in the portal, Gasparino made an impact commitment to the Bruins, returning home to the Los Angeles area as one of the top remaining players available.

Gasparino struggled to hit for average during his two seasons at Texas, but he’s a superlative center fielder, has tremendous natural power, and cut down his strikeout rate from his freshman to his sophomore seasons, leaving untapped upside still remaining as he eyes the 2026 MLB Draft.

Outfielder Donovan Jordan — Missouri

The Humble Summer Creek product is remaining in the SEC after commitment to Missouri on July 3.
