After a series loss to the Florida Gators on Sunday that included multiple post-game meetings and was termed the “most disappointing” defeat of the season by head coach Jim Schlossnagle, the Texas Longhorns dropped out of the top spot in the D1 Baseball Top 25 on Monday after four straight weeks ranked No. 1.
In the RPI, the Longhorns dropped from No. 1 to No. 4 in addition to the fall to third in the top 25, giving way to LSU at No. 1 and Florida State at No. 2.
The Tigers moved up after a series victory over the then-No. 7 Razorbacks in Baton Rouge, including a run-rule win on Saturday. Florida State advanced a spot in the rankings courtesy by taking two of three games against Cal in Berkeley.
Texas finishes the regular season with a trip to Norman to face Oklahoma in the Red River Showdown after two straight weekend series losses.
