Texas is a 2.5-point underdog against No. 16 Baylor

The Bears will enter Saturday’s game in Waco second in the Big 12 standings.

The Texas Longhorns are set to head up I-35 on Saturday for a matchup in Waco against the No. 16 Baylor Bears and currently sit as 2.5-point underdogs, according to odds released by DraftKings.

Texas is coming off its only bye week of the season after blowing leads against Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, heightening the stakes for first-year head coach Steve Sarkisian with a trip to Ames to face surging No. 22 Iowa State looming on Nov. 6.

At 4-3, the Longhorns are in danger of a lost season, but there’s a real opportunity present at McClane Stadium on Saturday at 11 a.m. Central on ABC. In second place in the Big 12 standings at 6-1 with an undefeated home record, Baylor presents a challenge for Texas, too — the Bears playing excellent football under second-year head coach Dave Aranda, led by a rushing offense that ranks No. 1 in the conference in yards per game and averages 6.11 yards per carry.

Texas is 79-27-4 in the all-time series against Baylor with a 31-17-2 record in Waco. Last year in Austin, the Horns sealed a 27-16 victory when quarterback Sam Ehlinger connected with tight end Cade Brewer on a 4th and 2 pass pass with under two minutes remaining.
