Texas offers 2027 four-star QB Kavian Bryant

After camping on the Forty Acres, the Palestine Westwood product became the third quarterback to receive an offer from the Longhorns in the 2027 class.

The narrow focus for the Texas Longhorns on quarterbacks in the 2027 recruiting class just expanded with Thursday’s offer to Palestine Westwood product Kavian Bryant following a camp on the Forty Acres.

After a great conversation with @milwee4 I’m extremely blessed to receive an offer from the University of Texas #Hookem #Agtg pic.twitter.com/mNIGTnA72v

Bryant is only the third quarterback head coach Steve Sarkisian and co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach AJ Milwee have offered in the 2027 recruiting class, along with Ohio State commit Brady Edmunds out of California and Shreveport (La.) Evangel Christian Academy’s Peyton Houston.

The 6’1.5, 180-pound Bryant is a three-sport standout at Westwood, playing basketball and running track and field in addition to serving as a two-year starter on the gridiron. In basketball, the son of former Mississippi Valley State forward Kadrian Bryant averaged 28 points per game as a freshman. In football, Bryant has thrown for 5,000 yards and 67 touchdowns while running for nearly 1,700 yards and 23 touchdowns. One standout stat for Bryant involves his decision making — his interception rate dropped from 3.0 percent as a freshman to 1.6 percent as a sophomore.

As a prospect, Bryant has some similarities to former Alabama standout Bryce Young and Texas freshman KJ Lacey as a point guard on the football field capable of using his athleticism to extend plays, but he’s also taller and a better pure athlete than both of those players with some of the unconventional aspects of Lacey’s arm slots.

Bryant now holds 24 football offers from some of the top programs around the country, including Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Wisconsin.

As a basketball player, Bryant holds eight offers — Arizona State, Cal, Florida State, Oklahoma State, Stanford, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech.

Because quarterbacks commit early, Bryant’s recruitment could move quickly from here with Houston also high on the Longhorns.
