Texas Longhorns freshman offensive tackle Nick Brooks was arrested early Sunday morning in Austin and charged with driving while intoxicated.
The Travis County Sherriff’s Office said that Brooks, who is 6’7, 353 pounds, was booked into jail at 3:43 a.m. on Sunday and was released on a personal bond at 7:39 p.m. after his arrest in the 900 block of West Sixth Street.
According to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, Nicolai “Nick” Brooks was booked into jail on Sunday, April 27, at 3:43 a.m. on a drunken driving charge. He was released on a personal bond at 7:39 p.m. the same day.
“We are aware of the situation with Nick Brooks, have talked with him and are gathering information. We will continue to monitor the legal process and address this situation within the team at the appropriate time,” Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said in a statement.
Brooks was a consensus four-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class ranked as the No. 238 player nationally and the No. 25 offensive tackle, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Georgia and USC hosted the Loganville (Ga.) Grayson product on official visits prior to his commitment to Texas.
