
The Longhorns are the overwhelming favorites to win the conference in their second season.
After playing the SEC Championship game last season and advancing to the semifinals of the College Football Playoff, the Texas Longhorns face high expectations heading into the 2025 season with their 96 votes from the media ranking first in the conference.
Georgia finished second with 44 votes, setting up an anticipated rematch in the SEC Championship game on Dec. 6 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Texas also placed 13 places on the All-SEC preseason teams.
The five first-team selections include junior running back Quintrevion Wisner, senior right guard DJ Campbell, sophomore EDGE Colin Simmons, junior linebacker Anthony Hill Jr., and super senior safety Michael Taaffe.
Sophomore wide receiver Ryan Wingo, junior cornerback Manny Muhammad, and super senior punter Jack Bouwmeester were selected to the second team, while redshirt sophomore quarterback Arch Manning, junior tight end Jack Endries, redshirt sophomore offensive tackle Trevor Goosby, senior linebacker Trey Moore, and senior kickoff specialist Will Stone were selected to the third team.
