The LSU transfer only made six appearances in 2025.
In the wake of Thursday’s commitment from Wake Forest Demon Deacons transfer left-hander Haiden Leffew, Texas Longhorns right-hander Aiden Moffett entered the NCAA transfer portal on Friday.

The 6’3, 230-pounder has one season of eligibility remaining.
A Mount Olive, Miss. product, Moffett signed with LSU as a member of the 2022 recruiting class ranked as the No. 193 prospect and the No. 56 left-handed pitcher, according to Perfect Game.
After making one appearance as a freshman, Moffett pitched in 16 games as a sophomore, posting a 5.60 ERA in 17.2 innings while striking out 21 batters, a strikeout rate that provided evidence of his pure stuff. Walking 12 batters and allowing four home runs provided evidence of his difficulty locating pitches.
But new head coach Jim Schlossnagle and his staff needed arms with potential and took a chance on Moffett in the transfer portal last year. It didn’t pay off, as Moffett only made six appearances for Texas, although he was effective in those limited outings with a 2.25 ERA and seven strikeouts in four innings over six appearances, but he still walked four batters, threw three wild pitches, and hit two more batters.
Moffett is the 13th Texas player to enter the portal this offseason.
