The Denton Ryan product is staying in state.
Since the spring transfer window opened in mid-April, the Texas Longhorns lost nine players to the NCAA transfer portal, including Terrance Brooks, the projected starter at boundary cornerback.

DB Austin Jordan — TCU

It’s move Jordan is making in a quest to compete for a starting role somewhere in the secondary — he spent time at cornerback and nickel back with the Longhorns — but the floor for Jordan in the short term is continued contributions as a core special teams player.
DL Zac Swanson — Arizona State
After appearing in three games over two seasons for the Longhorns, Arizona product Zac Swanson is returning to his home state to play for the Sun Devils, joining former teammates J’Mond Tapp and Troy Omeire.

Edge Billy Walton — SMU
The South Oak Cliff product departed the Forty Acres after playing 15 snaps in 2023 over two games with one assisted tackle. On Wednesday, Walton made the decision to head back to the Metroplex, following in a long line of recent Texas players to transfer to SMU.

Edge J’Mond Tapp — Arizona State
The Louisiana product ended the 2023 season as the backup Jack end behind Ethan Burke after recording eight tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss, as a redshirt freshman. Tapp is now headed to Tempe, joining his former teammate Troy Omeire and former Texas Director of Recruiting Bryan Carrington.

IOL Payton Kirkland — Colorado
After one season with the Longhorns, Kirkland has opted in to the Deion Sanders Experience in Boulder with the Buffaloes desperate to land offensive lineman. Facing a difficult path to playing time at Texas, Kirkland has a shot to see the field quickly for CU.
